Finding openness

Finding openness  Choosing to be open is like opening our minds eye to that we can see answers that have been there all along but hidden because we are so blind. Our brains are hardwired for survival, we aren't naturally open minded when it comes to new things or ideas. Our brains notices that what we are doing right now is working well enough, so we avoid change all together. We're not in any grave danger, so we just maintain the status quo. Basically, our brain's baseline is "if it ain't broken, don't bother fixing it."  But we are not talking about escaping an immediate danger; instead we're talking about upgrading our operating system to go from surviving to thriving. So, lets put it all out there on the table and work together to discover where small changes can have a huge effect on your life in a positive way.  The more open to new concepts the more likely of success. Being open essentially means being more teachable. Remember that Greek philos

End of year journal prompts

Image
the end of every year, I like to reflect on everything that’s happened over the past twelve months. Though 2021 was memorable for unfortunate reasons, No thanks to covid-19 I’ve already forgotten some of the smaller things that happened over the course of the year. But I will never forget my dad’s death and the moment he looked at me as a way to say goodbye to me.  You might not have recognized the wins you had or the ways you’ve grown because there were other things fighting for your attention. If you’re like me, the  goals you set in January  may no longer feel relevant. You might have put them on the back-burner because other things took priority. For example I had to heal my ankle as I had an accident in feb-march. And that’s okay give yourself some credit for dealing with something that none of us have ever experienced before. Which was covid-19 delta.  Sidenote on my goals: I achieved more people reading my blogs.  Whether you achieved your goals or not, it’s helpful to take a mo

Social media vs self - esteem

Image
When it comes to social media, lots of us only share the nice stuff from our lives. We don’t always want to share the sad times but that can mean that our feeds just end up looking like everything is perfect and a happiness.... until you start looking at feeds of people you follow, think that’s all there is in their life and the. Feel bad because your life sucks, or wonder why they don’t seem to have bad days like you do. That sneaky voice creeps in your head and tells you lies. We’ve all been there. I’m sure people out there would say ‘well, if social media makes you feel so bad about yourself,  why not just quit it then?’ To which I’d reply by saying the obvious: quitting social media is just not that simple for many of us for example I been in music industry and to expose my music I need social media for my fans that follow me. For a lot of us it a way of staying in contact with family and friends. Our tendency to let the negative events and comments much more strongly than positive

Having inner foundations

Image
Inner foundations  Have you ever thought about whether you have a strong inner foundation that helps to guide your life choices? When I say foundation, I mean the inner structure that helps you live your life with less stress and overwhelm. Having a strong inner foundation is an important part of intentional living because it helps you make decisions that shape your future for the better. If your foundation isn’t solid, you might feel like life is constantly knocking you down just when things seem to be getting back on track. For example I faced my dad’s death and handled it better than anyone expected and that my friend is strength. I had foundation to help me through these hard times.  Even if you already have a sturdy inner foundation, that doesn’t mean it can’t sway from side to side sometimes. Our strength is constantly tested by the pressures of the world, and it can take a lot of effort to stay upright. With a strong inner foundation, you‘ll be better able to hand the winds of

HOW I’M LEARNING TO EMBRACE THE ART OF DOING NOTHING even during covid-19

Image
Have you ever tried to sit still for five minutes doing absolutely nothing?  I think you’ll agree that it’s pretty uncomfortable. Having nothing to do but listen to your own thoughts might feel about as exciting as watching paint dry. Because we’d rather not subject ourselves to that kind of torture, we rarely give ourselves time to do nothing. Instead, we try to fill every minute of the day, often with insignificant things like scrolling through social media. When you get into this kind of cycle, it’s hard to let yourself relax at the end of the day. You might feel like you could have accomplished more, even though your day felt ridiculously busy. If you don’t give yourself time to do nothing, you risk getting  burned out . Embracing the art of doing nothing is important if you want more creativity, relaxation, and mindfulness in your life. In this post, I’m sharing how I’ve shifted my mindset to find a balance between being productive and doing nothing. Plus you’ll get some practical
