How to get productive while depressed

Image
Avoiding and ruminating are core symptoms of   depression . To help sufferers and their loved ones better understand this, I’ll unpack the links between depression and   procrastination . When people are depressed they often lose interest in activities they normally enjoy. This can lead to procrastination about even fun activities. Even if the person thinks they might like to attend an event, they may hesitate about committing due to  fear  they won't feel up to it when the time rolls around. procrastination is associated with symptoms of depression , anxiety, and stress as well as loneliness and reduced life satisfaction.   People who deal with  stress  by putting problems in their ‘too hard basket’ are more vulnerable to getting depressed. There is a huge chicken and egg relationship here. If you ruminate about problems rather than tackling them head-on, it can contribute to worsening depression, but depression can also make people feel f...

Do things right away - productivity

Image
By Lifesuccessnz  Productivity  Do things right away Procrastination can have negative effects on both our energy levels and the amount of time we have available to complete tasks. When we put off tasks, we often think and tell ourselves that we are giving ourselves a break or more time to complete the task. However, in reality, we are just creating more stress and anxiety for ourselves. This added stress drains our energy, making it harder for us to focus and be productive when we do eventually start working on the task. The longer we put off a task, the more time we ultimately spend thinking about it and worrying about it, which can take away from time we could be using to complete other tasks or to enjoy life.  Don’t procrastinate for five days on something that takes five minutes to do. When we have something in the back of our head, it takes up mental space and energy. When procrastination becomes a habit, our metal storage gets more and more filled until we f...

Finding ways to be Productive during covid-19

Image
We are all struggling to be productive because of covid-19 🦠 Omicron. But let’s face it with courage and do what we can to stay motivated to be productive daily.  Here is a video to help you when you don’t feel motivated.      spending so much time at home has brought up some interesting challenges.  When your home is also your office, bringing work into your self-care space can create some hazy boundaries.  Working from home means the same place where you eat, relax, and socialize becomes associated with work. Sadly we don’t have a choice. If you’re on regular Zoom calls, your work meetings are now in your sacred space. It’s almost like inviting your co-workers into your living room for a meeting.
