Feeling Unmotivated? How To Start Showing Up As The Person You Want To Become

Image
Self belief is important  I’ve been unmotivated. It brought me to a point of realization that I need to be productive. Possibly a place I needed to hit before reaching my new potential. This season in life brought up some very important questions that I’ve started committing myself to:  Who do I want to be showing up in 3, 6, 12 months from now? How do I want to feel? What does the future life of me look like? This is why writing in a journal helps. I took these questions and started to break it down, simplify, and create action.   I then asked myself the more tangible questions: What does it take to get there? Is it cutting out a negative aspect of your life? Is it educating myself? Prioritizing specific aspects of my life? Owning up to my actions? I’ve been actively trying to reroute and rewire my habits for the greater good of my future self. This doesn’t mean not to enjoy – but it means to stay disciplined and weigh out my priorities for the sake of my dreams. ...

Getting and staying motivated

Motivation is what drives us to make the things happen – but staying motivated isn’t always easy. Get some tips on how to become (and stay!) motivated, and suggestions for what to do if you just can’t get into gear. This can help if: you want to figure out your goals and learn how to achieve them you’re feeling unmotivated you want to get stuff done. Positive and negative motivation Motivation is what drives you towards a goal, gets you up in the morning, and keeps you working through a task, determined to succeed when things get tough. But motivation can be both positive and negative: Positive motivations focus on the positive things that will happen when you take action. For example: ‘Finishing this assignment means I’m only a step away from being qualified.' Negative motivations focus on the negative backlash that will occur if you don’t take action. For example: ‘If I don’t finish this assignment in the next few hours, I’ll fail my course.' Negative and positive motivat...

Motivation chain

Image
The thing about the motivation chain is that it’s not only a three-part chain but an endless loop: Your actions create further emotional reactions and inspirations and move on to motivate your future actions. Taking advantage of this knowledge, we can actually re-orient our mindset in the following way: Action → Inspiration → Motivation The conclusion is that if you lack the motivation to make an  important change in your life , then  do something , anything really, and then harness the reaction to that action as a way to begin motivating yourself.  when no one is around to push you, sitting around and watching TV reruns all day can quickly become the more appealing option. I  quickly learned that forcing myself to do something, even the most intense tasks, quickly made the larger tasks seem much easier.  the appropriate action occurs at some point or another. The motivation is natural. The inspiration is genuine. It’s an overall far more pleasant way of  ...

Motivation- what drives you?

Motivation - what drives you?   Are you running towards or away from something? When I talk about motivation, often people see it as a battle to get it done. Feeling like you need to have hardcore self control and this wild persistence to get something completed. You need to work out what is motivating and driving you. Then achieving things will become enjoyable instead of painful. All your willpower because the journey is either enjoyable or not. The entire journey is fulfilling because every step of the way is getting you closer to what is exciting or what matters. It’s where even a small step in the journey can feel like an accomplishment. Take losing weight for example. Instead of running away from the body and weight that you are unhappy with, try and pick a fitness goal that works for you. Changing your attitude towards it makes a difference! Fear can get in the way and hold you down. Ask yourself the following questions Do you do any of the following?   ...
