How to Improve Self-Esteem: A Practical Guide to Building Confidence and Self-Worth

Image
Self-esteem isn’t something you’re born with or without—it’s something you build. Whether you’re struggling with self-doubt, perfectionism, or a lifetime of critical inner dialogue, improving your self-esteem is absolutely possible. It starts with understanding that self-esteem is rooted in how you treat yourself and the evidence you create through your own actions. Here’s how to cultivate genuine confidence from the inside out. Understand the Difference Between Self-Esteem and Conceit True self-esteem isn’t arrogance or thinking you’re better than others. It’s a realistic, compassionate assessment of your own worth. It means accepting your strengths and weaknesses without judgment, believing you deserve respect (including from yourself), and knowing your value isn’t dependent on external validation or achievement. Self-esteem is quiet confidence, not loud boasting. When you have healthy self-esteem, you can acknowledge your limitations without shame and celebrate your wins without nee...

Live Your Best Life: A Guide to Intentional Living

Image
Live your best life!  “Live your best life” gets thrown around a lot, but what does it actually mean? It’s not about having it all figured out or achieving some perfect version of yourself. It’s about making conscious choices aligned with your values, pursuing what matters most to you, and continuously growing into who you want to become. Here’s how to start living authentically and purposefully. Define What “Best” Means to You Before you can live your best life, you need to understand what that looks like for you personally. Best doesn’t mean the same thing for everyone. For some, it’s family and stability. For others, it’s adventure and exploration. For many, it’s a combination of things. Take time to reflect on your deepest values and what genuinely brings you fulfillment—not what society, your family, or social media tells you should matter. Write down your answers to these questions: What activities make you feel most alive? What kind of person do you want to be? What would yo...

Rising above trauma

Image
Rising above trauma  What happens if the trauma is so intense that you don't know how to overcome it? Here's what I think of the trauma I have faced not once but twice. I lost two brothers to suicide, my brother put a gun to his head and that is something you can't ever forget. I had to adjust my thoughts towards life and death. You ask yourself the questions, How do I get through it? I know it hurts but how do I get through it? Here’s a way through the emotional process I've learned. Let yourself feel it all  Stop carrying the blame  Speak the story  Find your anchor in the present   There's no way to explain the order of trauma. Someone else's experience may seem more or less than our own but we need to get real about it. What's important is not the event itself, not the suffering as such, but how we make sense of it. Many people experience challenging life events that they thought they could not overcome. But, I am that example for those who have been t...

You are responsible for your relationships

Image
Since relationships are normally two-sided, you can be responsible only for your part. But relating to someone else also brings a merging, so it is not easy to separate out what was. A leader follows one general rule that is when things are going well, praise the other person; when things are not going well be responsible for changing them. If you wait for another person to change things, or themselves then you are fooling yourself. You might end up waiting a long time for the person to change, you must arrive at self-sufficiency which is the realization that you are enough don't be someone you are not. You never need another person to complete you. Once this truly sinks in, you will stop asking others to change in order for you to feel better. It's not their responsibility; it doesn't show how much they care, and no matter how they so call try you might end up feeling bad anyways. Some people can be narcissistic so be careful. You reverse the belief that relationships are...

Gaining control from negative events

Image
Gaining control from negative events Have you ever heard someone say "I've lost control of my life"? There have been times where I've said to myself "man I can't get in control of myself"! What I'm really saying is I'm no longer in control of my events in my life which means I am reacting to these situations. Being out of control is a horrible feeling but we can feel like we got control by accepting it. To be honest what person has almost absolute total control over the negative events in his or her professional and personal environment? Everything we experience is an event. So…. are you going to take more control by changing how you respond to it? What is important is not that there are uncontrollable events in our lives, but how we respond to them. Often the most realistic response is to adapt . Unless you want to stress yourself out that's the other option. To describe how a person can feel inside when faced with events they can't cont...

CBT cognitive behavioural therapy how can it help you

Image
Description Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to improve mental health. CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems you are facing. A lot of life coaches like myself have certifications to teach CBT.  In-Depth:  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy . ...  CBT works  by changing people's attitudes and their behavior by focusing on the thoughts, images, beliefs and attitudes that are held (a person's cognitive processes) and how these processes relate to the way a person behaves, as a way of dealing with emotional problems. So, really CBT is the best therapy you can get and it’s important to learn to change your mindset about anything because if you slip back into negative thoughts then you got go straight to CBT fast before you slip back into negative mindset again. This is why af...

Creating happiness within

Image
When you want to find happiness really the only way to finding that happiness is by creating it. That's how I managed to find my way to feeling and acting happier as a person. Changing how we view life that means changing our mindsets about our lives and that is why I teach CBT cognitive behavioral therapy to reset your mind to be a happier and positive person within. Let's explore how we can achieve this happiness  Write 3 things you are grateful for: When you are grateful you feel good within and see the positives around you currently and there will be no room for negativity. Meditate for 10 minutes: meditation is good for the mind and body it relaxing as well. It reduces stress levels, try doing meditation twice a day. I like doing meditation first thing in the morning.  Watch inspiring YouTuber: My favorite YouTuber is Gabrielle Bernstein she has a beautiful energy. You need to get inspired by someone that you can relate to and get inspired daily.  Listen to a motiv...

How to love yourself

Image
How to love yourself today  The Six Steps Of Inner Bonding: 1. Be willing to feel pain and take responsibility for your feelings. All feelings are informational, letting us know whether we're loving ourselves or abandoning ourselves, or if others are being loving or controlling. Step one is mindfully following your breath either in meditative state or just simply breathe to get present in your body, and compassionately embracing all feelings. I recommend playing guided meditation feelings chapter 1 on YouTube. It's about moving towards your feelings rather than avoiding them with various forms of self-abandonment, such as staying focused in your head, judging yourself, turning to addictions to numb out, or making someone else responsible for your feelings which we shouldn't make others responsible.  2. Move into the intent to learn. In inner bonding, there are only two possible intentions in any given moment: To protect against pain, avoiding responsibili...
