Overcoming tragedy of suicide  I know how it feels to lose a person through suicide, it never the easiest experience. I’ve lost two brother's to suicide and it had a big impact on my life. No one knows what it truly feels to go through trauma at a young age of 9 when my youngest brother took his life in 1995, they didn't talk about suicide or even get kids therapy to get through their loss instead my mother didn’t know how to handle it or tell a child the truth. She didn't tell me until I was sixteen which made me struggle with depression. She regrets and now understands suicide. So, I spent years trying to accept my loss.   At the age of 28 my oldest brother took his life by using a gun to his head blowing his brain's. Trust me it was hard.  I struggled as my father had a stroke few days before it happened it didn't feel real at all, felt a lot of guilt but we shouldn't be feeling guilty of the person's death as they chose to end their life. So how do we ov...

Live Your Best Life: A Guide to Intentional Living

Image
Live your best life!  “Live your best life” gets thrown around a lot, but what does it actually mean? It’s not about having it all figured out or achieving some perfect version of yourself. It’s about making conscious choices aligned with your values, pursuing what matters most to you, and continuously growing into who you want to become. Here’s how to start living authentically and purposefully. Define What “Best” Means to You Before you can live your best life, you need to understand what that looks like for you personally. Take time to reflect on your deepest values and what genuinely brings you fulfillment—not what society, your family, or social media tells you should matter. Write down your answers to these questions: What activities make you feel most alive? What kind of person do you want to be? What would yo...

Rising above trauma

Rising above trauma  What happens if the trauma is so intense that you don't know how to overcome it? Here's what I think of the trauma I have faced not once but twice. I lost two brothers to suicide, my brother put a gun to his head and that is something you can't ever forget. I had to adjust my thoughts towards life and death. You ask yourself the questions, How do I get through it? I know it hurts but how do I get through it? Here’s a way through the emotional process I've learned. Let yourself feel it all  Stop carrying the blame  Speak the story  Find your anchor in the present   There's no way to explain the order of trauma. Someone else's experience may seem more or less than our own but we need to get real about it. What's important is not the event itself, not the suffering as such, but how we make sense of it. Many people experience challenging life events that they thought they could not overcome. But, I am that example for those who have been t...

Release Fear - transform fear to faith

The presence of love releases you from fear which means your thoughts is changed. We all have nervous breakdowns but we need to remember to having faith in the universe have the spirit of forgiveness saying a prayer of love. I came across self-help book The universe has your back by Gabrielle Bernstein it had an impact on my life now I share the tools I learned from my experiences with you. When you go through anxiety nervous breakdowns all we need to do is start having faith in the universe as it has our back why? Because a situation happened to turn out better than I expected, I stopped listening to old stories from my life we avoid situations like relationships fearing the worst when it may not even happen or fear of someone being toxic to you which family can do but you have the power to change how you respond to these fears. Having spiritual awareness is helpful to choose to see it with love rather than fear, maybe say out loud to yourself for the universe to hear " I choose...
