Handle uncertainty  Let’s take a moment to think about the concept of choice. These days we obviously have been given a reality that feels like there’s not much choice, right? We have to stay home. We have to follow the rules out of respect for everybody else. We have to be mindful of our community and the world around us. It’s easy to feel powerless, given the circumstances we’re living in. We feel powerless over the political issues that are playing out in the world. We feel helpless in the midst of the global pandemic and the daily terrors we experience through our newsfeed. But even with all this, we have the power to choose our own perspective on our circumstances. We can choose to show up every day looking for solutions rather than problems. We can choose to turn off the news. We can choose to be mindful and conscious of how our actions affect others. We like to blame our circumstances and other people, but we hold ourselves back more than we might like to admit or even realize. Smart goal setting    We all have things that we want to change and goals that we are working towards: lose 15 pounds, drink more   water ,   exercise   more often…But how do we turn those dreams into reality? In this post we review SMART goals and explain why they help us achieve success and turn those dreams and goals into reality! So what is a SMART goal? A SMART goal is a way to make progress towards our goals. It is a way to break a vision into smaller, actionable steps that can be taken each week. An example of this would be to take a 3 month goal, such as “I would like to be going to the gym for 1 hour three times per week” and turning it into a SMART goal of “I will go the the store on Wednesday at 10am to buy a pair of sneakers this week.” You feel energized and encouraged when you achieve that goal, and are ready to set a new goal for the next week!    It seems like we are surrounded by negativity  With overwhelming access to information and a constant bombardment of details surrounding the most of us up to the minute of tragedy the likes of suicide. It is easy to get stuck in a negative space.  This is not a healthy or helpful place to live.
