Self care & acceptance of epilepsy

Self care & acceptance of epilepsy

More than ever I have started to take better care of my body and mind which heals my health condition epilepsy. I’ve had it since birth, so a neurologists said to me but I found at the age of 25 that’s when I had full blown tonic clonic seizure. It took me years to find the right thing to control my epilepsy but self care matters when you have health concerns. I take supplements to control the seizures and stress levels and 5 htp is known to help the neurological settings in the brain which is super important to reduce the risk of a seizure. So far so good it has helped me. I changed my diet the keto foods more than I used to but it has been hard during the covid-19 Situation around the world. Sleep is important for the brain so I been working on improving my quality of sleep when I have had great sleep I’m full of energy and able to cope with my day.
Fish oils and other healthy fats as it supports the brain function. So far, taking care of my nourishment for my health has made a difference in how my body responds to things around me like stress and anxiety. I now gluten free as my body can’t handle anything gluten I’m allergic to gluten. As soon as I feel tired I need sleep ASAP! That means early night for me! We all need to listen to our body even though exercise is good for the body and mind I cannot do it to the extreme like most I have to be careful so a walk and short burst of exercise is working for me.

Above is sleep supplements I use every night

Walk in nature daily if not raining

We all have ways that work for us and everyone’s Way of self care is different but mine is taking care of my body so I can cope with epilepsy better everyday. I meditate everyday even at night release the body from stress fully relax.
