Overcoming trauma 


Willingness is what allowed me to heal myself, so that I could help others also make an impact on the world. But before I could embrace a new vision for my life, I had to face the wounds of my past that were keeping me down. It’s a brave act to face your fears and past experiences. So, let’s look at ways we can help you get through trauma. Most of us live life trying to control our circumstances in order to feel safe. When we obsess over fearful thoughts, or feel an unconscious sense of anxiety, these behaviours are subconscious ways of trying to control our circumstances. From my own personal experiences of sexual and physical abuse also tragic losses of both brothers committing suicide. Whenever we try to control everything, we are not going to feel peace. I faced my trauma with courage and that is a mindset I needed to help me through the hard times when trauma came up.

Affirmations help this area that is why I use CBT known as cognitive behavioural therapy. As you see below the CBT diagram.  

Freedom from fear offers you the freedom to be the greatest version of yourself.  Establishing a sense of safety and relief begins by interrupting the fear response. 

1. Throughout the day pay attention to your feelings and the moments when you are triggered into one of your destructive patterns. 

2. Write your reactive response in journal 

3. Breathe! 

4. Prayer Thank you, universe, for helping me experience these feelings with grace. I honor how I feel. 

5. Dropping anchor is known by Dr Ross Harris he wrote two books The reality slap and The happiness trap.
