How to be your best self

How to be Your best self

Being your self without judgement by others and be who you are with confidence.
When saw I was different I embraced it. So, let’s work on embracing who you are here and now.
Below is a video I created for you guys!

Think about the last time you felt empowered, in control, happy and accomplished. When you felt on top of the world. That’s called being in your peak state – a state where your personal performance is at it's highest. Now imagine living in that state all the time. That’s what happens when you learn how to be your best self.

To be your best self you’ll need to first discover who you really are, then maximize your strengths and improve on your weaknesses. You need to completely shift your mindset and take control of your life. I took control of my life even with epilepsy, so will you do it? When you do, you’ll discover a whole new you. A self that’s deeply at peace with the world, yet is also driven to achieve increased success. Also when you confront your past that has hurt you, you will have with courage.

Humans are capable of great things. We just need to unlock the power of our minds and focus on what we want. If you’re wondering “How to be my best self?,” you’re already steps ahead of everyone who isn’t trying. It’s time to commit to the journey and become your best self. So let’s get on the mission!

be your best self

For so many of us, our own beliefs about ourselves are the only thing holding us back. Use CBT cognitive behavioural therapy. These limiting beliefs tell us we aren’t athletic, courageous or worthy of love. They tell us we’re lazy, stupid or unattractive. Specially when people tell us we are not good enough as a person. They’re always there, but we don’t hear them unless we know what we’re looking for. Next time you think about exercising and a limiting belief pops up – “You’re not athletic, you hate working out!” – replace it with a positive thought. When you want to learn a new skill like public speaking, your limiting beliefs might say, “You’re too shy!” When you’re able to recognize this negative self-talk and eliminate it from your vocabulary, you can be your best self in any situation. Use affirmations daily. That is the power of CBT cognitive behavioural therapy.

2. FIND YOUR ULTIMATE PURPOSE

Once you cast off the limiting beliefs that have been holding you back, a whole new world of possibilities will open up. You can do, be and have anything you want. Now you must determine what that is. This goal is bigger than material things. It goes beyond your job and your career. It’s not about money or prestige. To unlock how to be your best self, you need to find your purpose in life. For me my coaching is my purpose in life because I see a need in this world as I lost two siblings to suicide.

Your purpose is what drives you. It’s the reason you get out of bed in the morning. Why you make the decisions you make. Don’t be afraid to think big. When you have a strong purpose, you can use it to propel you to be your best self. You’ll have such a big vision for your life, you’ll be unstoppable. That’s what it means to live with purpose.

3. FOCUS

focus on your best self

Discovering your ultimate purpose will energize you. You’ll have the drive you need to be your best self – but you’ll need to focus that drive. What are the best ways you can live your purpose and work towards your goals today? What area of your life do you want to master? Singular focus helps us overcome fear, take command of our giant capacity for change and improve our lives.

Where focus goes, energy flows. Use tools like goal visualization and priming to focus your energy and turn your goals into reality. I use journalling as a tool in this area. Don’t stop when you achieve one goal or even 10 or 20 goals. The answer to the question “How to be my best self?” is straight forward: commit to constant and never-ending improvement and fulfill your needs for growth.

4. HARNESS N.E.T. TIME

When you’re on the path to be your best self, you have no time to waste. Successful people know this and use all of their time wisely. That’s why it seems they have more hours in the day, when they really just have amazing time management skills. How do they do it? They harness what Tony Robins calls N.E.T. time– or No Extra Time – to continue their journey to self-improvement N.E.T. time is all the time you spend doing everyday tasks or doing nothing at all. Cleaning, commuting, grocery shopping and marathoning Netflix are all N.E.T. time. You can use this time to discover how to be your best self instead of wasting it. Put on a podcast to learn something new or get inspired. Make a list of short tasks you can accomplish instead of watching TV. Use your momentum from cleaning to achieve even more. The things you can do with your N.E.T. time are endless.

5. GET OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE

get outside your comfort zone

If you’ve been working to be your best self for a while, you may start to feel stagnant, no matter how many more goals you have left to achieve. Growth is addictive, and when you become used to living in your peak state, you’ll need to do more to feel that sense of accomplishment. This is a good thing – you’ll be driven to achieve even more. When I was in the music industry I never thought my music would take off and someone wanted to put my music on vinyl and I said yes to the idea. Which lead me to being a known musician in wellington NZ. the-eighth-note-lori-watt-record-label-small-town-electron

The best way to continue growth is to get outside your comfort zone. This could mean your physical comfort zone: going skydiving, mountain biking or hot air ballooning. It could also mean your mental or emotional comfort zone: going to an event where you don’t know anyone or challenging yourself to be vulnerable with your partner. Remember there is always more to learn if you’re willing to do what it takes to be your best self.
