Dealing with Covid-19 🦠so you can be a good leader
To be a good leader
Here are tools that will help you during the pandemic of Covid-19 🦠and face it with courage because it will affect our mental health.
A- social networking
Keeping in touch with people through social media,
Phone calls and texts. Connection is critical to our wellbeing.
T- time out
Take time out, whether it’s from long time sitting at computer doing zoom calls all day, or even extended time in close proximity with people in your home. This will help minimise the ongoing stress of being in limited space with others in your home.
R- relaxation etc
Managing anxiety and stress can be helped by through meditation and breathing techniques, also anything relaxing.
I find meditation helpful.
E- exercise and entertainment
Any form of exercise is good for overall wellbeing and mental health. Maybe catch up on some reading, hobbies or listening to audiobooks or podcasts or even music.
A- Alternative thinking
I use cognitive behavioural therapy it helps you to change your mindset and behaviour towards things in life. You can talk to a coach or counsellor or a friend. We are all in this together, and find a healthy perspective towards the negative situation we are experiencing.
M-mindful of others
Maintaining caring relationships. Never forget that simple acts of kindness make us feel good about ourselves, the world and the future. As a leader I’ve learned that my behaviour and mindset is important to navigate our mental health in order recognise our negative behaviour. This is why I use cognitive behavioral therapy. Be kind to others regardless because being negative is not going to help.
