Even though I have a battle with my health and epilepsy I still try to live life the best I can. Here’s the question what are you looking for in your life? How your thoughts influence your reality

Image
Many people struggle with the idea that thoughts play such a big role in the creation of their reality. If this was true, that would mean we are responsible for the seemingly bad or negative experiences that come into our lives. Perhaps a better way to look at this would be, your thoughts create how you perceive your reality. Events are happening in our lives all the time, and this is our mindset or known as vibration that paints them as being negative or positive. In truth, there really is no such thing as negative or positive. Your reality is simply what you choose it to be and how you focus on also how you choose to see things. Every experience is an opportunity to grow, and every experience offers both positive and negative, depending on how you want to see it. The more “positive” things you can focus on, the more positivity you will create in your life. It’s that simple! Of course, you can focus on positive emotions all you like, but you need to also feel them. If life is ch...

Overcoming grief

Image
Overcoming grief  I’ve experienced two suicides, both brothers took their lives so.... I understand how suicide affects other people. Not long ago my dad passed away recently and grief is not easy to overcome. We all grieve differently and that is okay. When I received my fathers ashes I felt peace within which was good, it means I have more closure. When my cat passed away it was hard to find a new cat that had a loving side. A year later I found a cat that had that loving side.  Here’s my advice to help you get through grief. Learn to accept the persons passing. Let out how you feel don’t deny your feelings. Use art or other therapy to get through it. Accept change it may feel weird without the person but you need to accept things that have changed. It was their time to go, the universe supports us even when we don’t know it yet. Use CBT known as cognitive behavioural therapy, being mindful of what thoughts you have. Remember the good times you have had with that perso...

Moving on to positive thoughts

Image
Moving on to positive thoughts  Cognitive behavioural therapy known as CBT techniques- identifying, replacing negative thoughts- have been found to be very effective in helping people to think more positively. Acceptance and commitment recognises that when you accept and let go of the negative, unhelpful thoughts, you will let go of the emotions and allow the rational, logical part of your mind start working. - To start thinking more helpful positive thoughts regularly. Instead of getting caught up with your thoughts and struggle with them, just notice them and let them go. Imagine you’re a sheriff in an old western town. You notice an outlaw strolling the street. You don’t challenge him, you simply acknowledge the outlaw and calmly and firmly encourage him to keep walking, right on out of town. You can do the same with negative thoughts those unhelpful thoughts, you simply acknowledge and release them. Instead of challenging the negative thoughts. If they came back you look at the...

What to do when feeling unmotivated Let yourself go through the feeling of being negative for a short time but use CBT cognitive behavioural therapy and then go slowly into being productive by using habits stacking to be motivated to do anything. Don’t be hard on yourself this is common to experience. Often I have these crap days and need to find motivation. Check out my video on the subject. I use an app to help me get motivated when I’m struggling. The app I use currently- google tasks what do you use to help your productivity? I been reading  Atomic Habits by James Clear We all go through a phase of being unmotivated to do the things we set out to do. Tick them off and celebrate that you done it. That means reward yourself. Of course depression doesn’t help as I can speak from experience. One of the simplest ways I’ve learned how to deal with procrastination is to consider how my choices today will affect my future self. In this process be kind to yourself it is too easy to bea...
